Trinity Members. Pastor Melinda Gapen has agreed to allow her name to be presented to the congregation for the position of pastor for Trinity. A special congregational meeting will be held Sunday, September 10th immediately following worship to vote on her becoming the Trinity pastor. The approval of Pastor Gapen requires two thirds majority of voting members present by written vote. Pastor Gapens compensation and benefits package will be voted on separately and requires a majority vote. A representative from the Indiana-Kentucky Synod will lead the meeting on the 10th. As announced at the Sunday, August 20th service, Pastor Gapen asked council for permission to live in the Whitewater Indiana area (18 miles from Trinity). Council unanimously approved her request. Almost 100% of congregational members present on the 20th informally approved her request as well. There were a couple members stating they want the pastor to live in the immediate union city area. Council will work with Pastor Gapen regarding her involvement with organizations within Union City if she is voted in as the next pastor of Trinity on September 10th. Pastor Gapens compensation and benefits package will be available for viewing beginning Sunday, September 3rd. Please contact a Council Member with any questions. Thank you. Please mark your calendars to attend the Special Meeting on Sunday, September 10th. NOTE: We need a “minimum” of 30 voting members present on the 10th to have a quorum.
